TRAILDUSTERS RIDING HOURS RULES
1. Must be a member of Traildusters for 6 months or longer prior to October 1, the beginning of the calendar year for riding hours.
2. Riding hours are accumulated from October 1 through September 30 each year.
3. Hours are to be recorded on the approved Belt Buckle Log Sheet or a calendar for that year. Record hours legibly for actual hours in the saddle and worked. Record partial hours in increments of quarter hour, i.e. 6 1/4 hours or 7 3/4 hours, etc.
4. Arena riding or commercial hours of riding are not to be included. Commercial hours are paid hours.
5. Lunch breaks or stops over 15 minutes are not included.
6. For all authorized** trail work performed, the time is counted double toward riding hours.
One entry on your calendar for each day of work hours is sufficient, i.e. if you worked 4 hours, make your calendar entry as 8 hours work party at Cady Ridge. The hours will be counted, as recorded.
7. You must attend at least one authorized** work party to be eligible for a buckle award.
8. Riding hours must be turned in by midnight October 15 each year to qualify for the belt buckle competition. Phone in hours will not be allowed.
9. All riding hours that are turned in will be made public in the January newsletter.
10. Buckles will be awarded at the Christmas party to the man and woman with the highest number of riding hours. One $50. award will go to the 2nd place person with overall riding hours. The 3rd place winner will receive recognition for overall hours, but will not receive a prize.
11. Recipients
of the buckles the previous year (previous 2 years) will
not qualify for a buckle for the current year. If you won a buckle in 2006 (2007), you could not win again in 2007 (until 2010).
You would however be eligible to win 2nd or 3rd
place spot in the current year. Changes effective for 2008 buckle year are in red.
** Authorized means organized work performed on specific dates by the Traildusters group as a whole. These are USUALLY West Cady Ridge, USFS Darrington, and Thanksgiving PTF work parties.
